Purpose of the Role

Sequel Order Concierges are the first point of connection in our guest experience—creating a warm, welcoming environment where each individual feels seen, known, and valued. More than just taking orders, these team members are naturally people-oriented, intentionally taking time to learn about the person behind the order. They love conversation, ask great questions, and intuitively adapt each interaction—knowing when to linger and when to move quickly based on the flow of the café. With a deep knowledge of Sequel’s offerings, Order Concierges guide guests through the menu—making thoughtful recommendations and personalizing each experience. They are driven by hospitality and service, equipping the baristas and kitchen team with the information they need to delight every guest. Order Concierges are warm, upbeat, and attentive individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, support their team with excellence, and reflect Sequel’s mission in every interaction. 

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and engage in genuine conversations to build authentic relationships while learning their names and orders. 

  • Create a welcoming environment by maintaining a clean and organized POS area, including sanitizing surfaces, restocking supplies, and arranging displays.  

  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system with efficiency and accuracy, processing orders for beverages, food items, and merchandise across the drive-thru and in-person shop. 

  • Engage with customers to provide menu recommendations, answer questions about our offerings, and make personalized beverage suggestions.  

  • Fully understand our coffee offerings, seasonal promotions, and special events to share during guest interactions. 

  • Anticipate and respond to customer needs and preferences, demonstrating a genuine desire to provide exceptional service and memorable experiences. 

  • Hand deliver orders to guests, provide support to Sequel team members, and assist with shop needs during lulls.  

  • Actively listen to customer and team member feedback and communicate any suggestions or concerns to the Shop Manager. 

  • Create a distinct and memorable guest experience that sets Sequel apart. 

  • Contribute to a team culture rooted in care and growth, with hospitality at the core of all that we do.  

  • Contribute to Sequel achieving its goals of: Speed of Service, Order Accuracy, and Customer Delight.

  • Passionate about serving others and creating personal experiences for every guest.  

  • Curious, warm, and approachable- someone who naturally draws people in, is great at asking questions, and is energized by brief customer interactions.  

  • Has high emotional intelligence, is able to read people and meet them where they are.  

  • A willingness to learn and grow in knowledge of coffee.  

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly, approachable manner.
